To My Patients,
It is with mixed emotions that I am informing you of my upcoming retirement. November 27, 2024 will be my last day in clinic. It has been a privilege and an honor for you to have chosen me to be a provider of your medical, and in some cases, surgical, eye care. As I hit 70 years of age this year, I feel it is time to step away from the practice of Ophthalmology.
I came to Raleigh in 1985, practicing at Southern Eye Associates and have been at Raleigh Eye Center since 2015 when SEA closed. Some of you have been with me since the beginning while some are more recent. In any case, you are all important to me and your care has been my priority.
Raleigh Eye Center has been looking for a replacement for me to take over my care of my Retina patients. Thus far we have not been successful in getting a firm commitment. Please know that we will be glad to expedite forwarding your medical records to another retina specialist of your choosing and assist in arranging follow up. Some of the choices available to you are:
Taylor Retina Center 919-878-4060 https://www.taylorretinacenter.com/
North Carolina Retina Associates 919-782-8038 https://www.ncretina.com/
Retina Institute of North Carolina 919-787-8555 http://riofnc.com/
Carolina Retina Institute 919-859-4511 https://carolinaretinaeyecare.com/
UNC Kittner Eye Center 984-974-2020 https://www.med.unc.edu/ophth/for-patients/appointments/
Duke Eye Center 919-681-3937 https://www.dukehealth.org/locations/duke-eye-center
For your other eye care needs (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.) my associates at Raleigh Eye Center are more than capable and glad to take care of you.
I plan to stay in the area to spend more time with my wife of 46 years as well as my children and grandchildren, so keep an eye out for me (no pun intended) and be sure to say “Hi”.
With my best wishes for a happy and healthy future,
Jerome J. Magolan, Jr. M.D., FASRS
