Dr. Magolan joins the Raleigh Eye Center in July, 2015. Dr. Magolan practiced 30 years at Southern Eye Associates in Raleigh, which closed its doors at the end of June, 2015. He specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, retinal vascular diseases, macular holes and epiretinal membranes.
Dr. Magolan is a graduate of Marquette University, received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, served his internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and did his Ophthalmology training at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. He came to North Carolina to complete a two year fellowship in Medical and Surgical Diseases of the Retina and Vitreous at the former Carolina Retina Clinic. He has served on various hospital committees at Duke Raleigh Hospital (formerly Raleigh Community Hospital) and Rex Hospital, and has been a delegate for the Wake County Medical Society and the North Carolina Medical Society.
ASSOCIATIONS
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists and a member of the American Medical Association, North Carolina Medical Society, North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Wake County Medical Society. He provides patient care for Project Access of Wake County, Alliance Medical Ministries, and the Open Door Clinic.
