James W. Kiley, M.D.

Dr. James W. Kiley received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and continued with an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Kiley is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). He is also a member of several other professional organizations such as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), the North Carolina Medical Society and the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Kiley has been with Raleigh Eye Center since 1980 providing eye care such as refractive surgery (including PRK, and LASIK), cataract surgery with implants, glaucoma surgery and treatment, as well as routine eye exams. He is certified on the Summit, VISX, Nidek Excimer and Allegretto lasers for the treatment of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. He has completed courses through the AAO, ASCRS, with Dr. Richard Lindstrom in Minneapolis, and Dr. George Waring in Atlanta, as well as others. Dr. Kiley has performed thousands of refractive surgeries and continues to attend courses to keep abreast of any advances in refractive surgery.

Dr. Kiley has done medical mission work in the Amazon jungle in Brazil, the Philippine Islands, The Republic of China, Africa, and Mexico providing free surgery and teaching local doctors the newest techniques in cataract surgery. He implanted the first foldable intraocular lens implant in Raleigh.
