Raleigh Eye Center (REC), the Triangle’s leader in laser vision correction for more than thirty years, is looking for the goofy pictures of people in their glasses or glasses-like contraptions in exchange for a chance to win LASIK. REC is launching their contest on both their website and Facebook page beginning April 1, 2014. Participants may enter the contest by uploading a goofy photo of them wearing glasses or glasses-like contraptions.
LASIK, which stands for Laser Assisted Stromal In-situ Keratomileusis, is a surgical procedure that uses laser energy to reshape the eye’s cornea. By reshaping the cornea, vision is improved and the need for glasses or contact lenses is eliminated or reduced.
This year, REC is relying on the public to select the top images from those that are entered. Participants are encouraged to share their entries with their friends and family and ask them to vote. In addition, REC’s Facebook fans are invited to view and vote for their favorite submission. The photo entry with the most votes will win a bilateral LASIK procedure valued at $4000.
“Not only will this contest provide someone with a life improving procedure, it will also spotlight their creativity,” said James Kiley, REC LASIK Surgeon. “We are looking forward to seeing the pictures that are submitted by those who enter.”
To enter the contest, participants should upload their photo to either the REC Facebook page or REC website by April 30, 2014. Voting will commence on May 1, 2014 and end May 8, 2014. The winner will be announced on the REC Facebook page May 12, 2014. No purchase is necessary to enter and the contest is open to all North Carolina residents 21 years of age and older.
