Have you always had a hard time finding sunglasses that look good on you? There are certain sunglasses that look better on certain faces. The trick is to determine your face shape and then which sunglasses go well with that shape. Luckily, LifeHacker has an easy chart that you can follow.
To figure out your face shape, we recommend tracing the outline of your face on a mirror with a dry erase marker.
There are four kinds of common face shapes:
Heart. With a heart-shaped face, the narrowest part is the jawline, so looking for frames that are wider on top would compliment this face shape well. Types of frame styles include cat eye, wayfarer and sport.
Round. A round face is characterized by wide cheekbones and a narrow forehead and jawline. The types of frames that would work best for this face type include wayfarer, cat eye and square sunglasses.
Square. An individual with a square face will have a strong jaw, as well as a wide forehead and cheekbones. To find frames that compliment this face shape, we recommend choosing sunglasses that feature rimless edges and soft lines, such as aviators, round glasses or shield sunnies.
Oval. This type of face shape is longer than it is wide and can pull off any type of sunglasses, especially wayfarers, aviators or oversized sunnies.
